End of the Year Celebrations
/Saying Goodbye
The end of the school year is almost here…that means you can almost check another year off! Can you believe we have survived another one? There were so many times this year that I didn’t think I would reach the end of this marathon, but here we are.
Even though I know you are tired, I also know the excitement mixed with a little bit of sadness that you are feeling right now. We love our kiddos and saying goodbye is an emotional thing. There is so much to celebrate, hugs to be given and maybe even a tear or two to shed as we think back on the growth we have seen this year.
Something to Celebrate
I love the celebrations that always take place at the end of the school year. Sometimes these happen as award nights, sometimes it is a school day assembly and sometimes it is simply a classroom presentation. No matter the format at your school, recognizing the accomplishments and unique characteristics of your students is so important. Each of your students deserves to receive an award of some kind.
This is not a “give every kid a trophy” situation. I truly think that each of my students has something unique about them that is good and should be celebrated. I want to highlight those qualities, even in my most challenging students, so that they can see the good within themselves also. That is why I use my End of the Year Awards in my room every single year.
Make Them Your Own
The End of the Year Awards are customizable so that there is always the right superlative for each of your students. You can print them in black or white or a full color version. They look great both ways! And with the digital format you can type the names of your students to keep things neat and tidy.
Many characteristics are already included to make things just a little easier. In fact, there are 61 superlatives in the set. You will be able to recognize everything from your Math Whiz to the Most Imaginative Students. With so many different categories, I’m sure you will find something to celebrate in all of your kiddos.
Always See the Positive
I know that you love your students… ALL of them. You see the good in them every day and with the end of school celebration you have the chance to help them see that good also.
